What happens in the Dark will come out in the Light!

What's up everybody!

You know the old saying, "what happens in darkness, will soon come to light".  Well something is definitely going on under my covers when it gets dark.  The moving, the growling, the panting, the scratching.  Not to mention the muscles tensing up, the sweat from the brow drips onto the pillow.  All of these verbs lead up to a very boisterous sound "HOOOWWWLLLLL".  Get your minds out of the gutter. LMAO.  I think I turn into a WEREWOLF at night. So, when the light came on, this is what I found!  Look at these damn sheets!!

NO JOKE, this is the 2nd set of sheets I have gone through.  They don't make 1200 count like they use to.  I'm in serious need of a pedicure.  Yep, that's just a day in the life of your "soon-to-be" favorite comedian.!!

Happy Mother's Day

Like everyone else, I would like to send a Mother's Day shout out to Eleanor Bynum & my Mother-in-Law Trudy Clarke. I'm proud and lucky to still have you here with me!

But today, I wanted to take a different route. I'm sure we all have friends and family, that no longer have their mothers here to physically hold on to. They only have the memories to grasp, because their mothers now carry angel wings on their backs. Days like today, are understandably, a little harder for them to celebrate due to the grief they re-live. So today, If you know someone, whose heart may be a little heavier, make them laugh a little harder. I'm sure they would appreciate the gesture.

And I'm sure if each of them had a voice on my blog, their message to us would be: "If your mother is still alive, hug them a little tighter today, I wish I could". So with that being said, I would like to give a special shout out to those who may be rejoicing in their mother's memory.

Out With The Old and In With The New

What's Up Everybody & Happy Resurrection Sunday! "Happy Birthday Dad aka Cool Jake!

When I was younger, Easter was the day, that I knew my sisters and I were getting new clothes for church. You see, a new suit (for myself or new dresses for my sisters), was a symbol for "out with the old and in with new". My parents may not have had much, but they made sure we went to Sears and picked out a fresh new look for church on Sunday. On the eve of Easter Sunday, I (as I'm sure we all did), laid my suit out, with my new tie and new patten leather shoes. MC Hammer couldn't touch ME, I was too sharp. Those were my younger years!

During my 20's, Easter Sunday was a day to go to church and complain about how crowded it was from all the "once a year" saints & aint's, taking up all the pews from the regular members. Though I was a little older, I still had to be dressed to impress, for the symbol still stood. "Out with the old and in with the new"! It's just now a days, I'm buying my own gear, and not relying on mom & dad to come out of pocket.

Now that I'm in my 30's, Resurrection Sunday, takes on a whole new light for me. It's the same old story and catch phrase, just the meaning behind it becomes a lot more clear. "Out with the old and in with the new"! The Lord, gave his only Son, to die for our sins (the old), only to rise again 3 days later, to show we are forgiven (the new). We all fall and come short of the glory, but because He rose, and left that tomb empty, God gives us the chance to release our old way of life and except the new.

Even church on Easter Sunday is revealed to me a little different now. As I stated above, in my 20's, I complained that the "once a year or O.A.Y" people took up space from the regular members. Now that my eyes are a little wider and my mind became a little wiser, the saying "out with the old and in with the new", still applies. If it takes Easter Sunday to bring in a new flock, who am I to judge. Let the old members embrace the O.A.Y's that come in and worship, who knows, a few of them may even become a "regular". So I won't complain, that your taking up my pew space. Now, when that time comes and you need someone to walk with you to the alter, look behind you, I'm already standing and will walk with you!

Happy Easter Everyone, from my household to yours!

Road Work Ahead, Use Caution

Greeting Bloggers,
While driving down 64E headed home from Short Pump the other night, there was a sign flashing on the left-hand side of the road that read "Road Work Ahead, Use Caution". I continued to drive straight ahead, at the same rate of speed. A few miles up, there was another sign, near the Staples Mills exit that read "Detour Ahead, Be Aware". I progressed towards the detour and took my normal exit. The sign was there to warn oncoming traffic, road work was being performed by city workers, trying to make the pavement smoother.

Good thing I didn't ignore these signs, I'm sure it would have been some very unhappy workers, if I had altered the road they laid and designed for me. That got me to thinking, how many signs do we come upon, read and ignore. God has a plan for us, a distinct road map that is individualized for each of us. Some of his signs are settle, some may appear with a flashing neon light with your name on it. LOL. The question is, do we allow our own personal agenda get in the way of God's plan? Do we witness the signs He's laid before us, and choose to ignore them, because we want, what WE want now? If I had ignored the signs that the city workers had placed in my travels, anything could have happened. I would have interfered with the designed they created for me to get home. I say that to say, we must "Use Caution", when the things WE plan on, don't work out just right. I know we're human, and we sometimes push forward, because "this" was our plan. But whose plan is more important? Our own or God's?

You know, we ask for a lot. Sometimes big, sometimes small, but it always seem to be something we "think" we need in order to make us happy. I personally want to be on TV being a comedic actor or doing my stand-up comedy, and I believe that God has opened that door for me. 2010 was a year I prayed that my comedy career would take off. So, I read the signs and changed my style to "clean" comedy, which wasn't easy. But because I took heed to the signs laid before me, the Lord has blessed me! Don't be afraid to ask the Lord for something, but be prepared for the work it will take to achieve and hold on to the blessing you've asked for. Well, The Lord hears our cries and will answer by and by! We just have to learn patience and allow God to do his Will. Sit back and let God pave your road. You've asked for something special, and because of your faith, He will give it to you. He wants to make sure that each of his children have smiles on their faces. But we HAVE to let God take control of the wheel. Just remember...there's Road Work Ahead, Use Caution.

Not Famous YET, but I still MADE it!

Greetings Everyone,

I know I joke a lot! And I mean A LOT...lol...

But i wanted to take a moment and pull on the strings hanging from your heart. On Facebook today, there were some great and touching comments to my post that said "This is a day that the Lord Hath made". It only took 3 comments, but those 3 comments touched me this morning. THANK YOU, Squiggs, Moonie & FoxiLady. Tee's comment really made me think today. I have said it before, I know God has a purpose for me, and I think its thru comedy. I'm just excited to see how I will be used. I know it will manifest in HIS time!

A lot of people wonder why I never have a bad day, or never let anything get to me. Well not only is it a good trait to be a comedian, but it's so much more than me. Like most, I've been thru things in my life, even some of the things, I asked for in prayer. If anyone knows the story of Job (and not a place of employment..LOL), he went thru a lot, yet never loosing FAITH in God! I proudly announce, I was like Job, and the same result...I never lost faith, and He never once let me down. So I praise him every chance I get. Am I perfect? Not at all...FAR from it, but I do recognize where my strength comes from.

So with that being said, I need a favor from everyone that reads this. Go into a room alone or with a loved one. Carry a CD player, turn the lights off so you can't see anything. Next I want you to start to think of all the hard times you've been through in your life. Think of all the disappointment family and so-called friends have put you through. After you've thought of your past or present situations, the Cd or song I want you to turn on....Marvin Sapp "Never Would've Made It"! Then, rethink all those thoughts and memories, that just came to mind. Now think of me, this should answer everyone's question of "How can Boogie be this way".....you've just learned why.

Now after this, imagine all the laughter you can have and look forward to, from now on. People just don't know, but I'm so thankful for having the greatest wife and family and friends in the world. The Lineage! Thank you all for believing that I can make it in this business. I refuse to let yall down!

If this has touched you in any kind of way, please feel free to add my Blog address (http://www.boogiebynum.blogspot.com/) to your social networking status line. This is not for self-fulfilment or trying to get my name out there (God does my marketing), I'm just trying to touch as many people as I can. It may be someone out there, that needs a pick me up. If you don't add this, "NO, no one will be cursed, die nor does it mean that you don't believe in God"....lmbo its just funny how the crazy forwards come out forcing and trying to scare people into forwarding their message.

Thanks Everyone!

Self said "Huh?", I know alot of people that's on their grind right now, trying to use talent that God has blessed them with. So I was thinking, what's one way to let everybody know, what everybody else is doing?! So that's when I decided that my blog today was going to be one big ol' commercial. LOL! If you hear something that may "tickle your fancy" Holla at me, and I can put you in touch with the right person. Remember, this is part 1.

Well it wouldn't be right, if I didn't start off with someone close and dear to my heart. That's right, I'm talking about MYSELF...LOL. If your looking for a comic to host your next event, or just wanna see me on stage, just let me know. Also, you may have seen some of the skits, comedy sketches or music videos I've done. The "big" corporate giants, can place your event on paper, but KASS will bring your event to LIFE. So your thinking of trying to make it in the entertainment industry, but not sure how to promote yourself? Try DBE (Dave Black Entertainment), he won't stop working, until you stop working.

Birthday Wishes!!!

Today's blog will be short...lol

This is to my youngest sister Katherine aka Kafin aka Phylis Washington aka Kat aka sisterrrrrr.

I can't believe how much time has passed since you were born. Believe it or not, I actually remember when my sister came home from the hospital. I was in elementary school (Fairfield Elementary),and my dad came to pick me and my other sister up (Jamie) to go home. When we arrived we found my mom laying on her back, with my baby sister laying on her stomach. I leaned to smell her of all things and said something profound to my mother. I said, "Mom, she smells like a baby!" I can't remember the response my mom gave, but I knew then I was going to be a comedian....LMAO.
Enjoy your 27th year on this earth, and remember, make this one better than the last!

Happy Birthday Kafrin,
Boogie
